While Wisconsin’s wolf hunt is on hold this season after last year’s widely criticized hunt, today Monday host Patty Peltekos turns her attention to the problem of wolf hunting in the American West.

Her guest is natural history and conservation writer Thomas McNamee, who published an op-ed in the New York Times last week, “A Slaughter of Wolves Like This Hasn’t Been Seen in a Century,” about the threats facing wolves in and around Yellowstone and the urgent need to restore federal protection.

Thomas McNamee is an American writer and Guggenheim Fellow. He has written four nonfiction books in the field of natural history and conservation, including The Return of the Wolf to Yellowstone (1997) and The Killing of Wolf Number Ten (2014).
