A deer attacked and chased for hundreds of meters a wolf, which tried to attack its cubs in the mountains of Russia.
Photographer Pavel Mudrov captured video footage of the astonishing role change as he worked on Russia’s Caucasus Reserve as part of a scientific expedition.
Mudrov says the mother was likely inspired to chase the predator after he attacked her cubs.
The amazing video shows the wolf running through the hills as he desperately tries to escape from the big deer.
At one point, the wolf appears destined for death, as the deer attacks him with his foot, but he manages to escape the attack.
